Just say it already!

The truth, the real hard truth… I’ve had some major writers block for the last month! Why? I have absolutely no clue. If you look at the number of drafts I had saved, there are endless half written blogs galore! But nothing finished. So I decided to start fresh! I deleted my hours of work and I’m starting again!

First of all can you believe Angie is now 8.5 months old? I swear a tear just rolled down my face. Where did the time go?!? She’s a crawling champ, she stands holding onto anything she can grab, she claps, waves and my all time favourite she talks… Like nonstop talks. It melts me and poppa bear all the time. She has so much to say and she says it all with so much heart and soul. My baby…

Now… Don’t get me wrong, Angie does no wrong in my eyes BUT she is definitely trying to get my panties in a knot. This girl LOVES saying Dadadadadadada! Like all day every day. I swear she even says “Hi Dad” a good handful of times throughout the day as well! What the bean sprouts! She hadn’t left me completely high and dry, I have heard the sweet sweet sweet words Momma come out of little Miss Chickita’s mouth but it’s only been in between a cry. It’s for sure mom, but the way I pictured it, the day my Angie said Momma I would pick her up, spin around in circles, shower her with kisses and just as my eye catches a glimpse of the sky a rainbow begins to form. That’s all hard to do when she’s crying like a baby! Pun totally intended!

She has me playing the waiting game. I listen to her stories day in and day out. The stories about what she found on the floor, about her feet, playing with my hair, eating Cheerios, playing peek-a-boo… I get it she’s busy! BUT FOR GODS SAKE… Say Momma! Like fun and lovingly as you shower me with your amazingly perfect slobber kisses! SAY IT ANGELINA!

What a Mother Pucker!

I was at my local Shoppers Drug Mart when it happened. I saw the words Sexy Mother Pucker glaring at me. I saw the name and I was drawn… Naturally! You would’ve done it too! I kinda took it as a way of the Universe complimenting me. Why not?!?! Okay fine, maybe not but the name did catch my attention. Obviously it was lip plumper, but I was drawn to the super witty and fun packaging.

I had a girlfriend come over that evening, so I thought this would be a funzy gift for us to experiment with. She laughed at me when I have it to her, but obviously we didn’t waste time ripping the packaging open and trying it on. She’s not anywhere close to being as lip challenged as I am, but let’s be honest… What girl doesn’t want bigger lips?!?!

I have tried my fair share of cheap and expensive plumpers in my lifetime, but nothing has plumpity plumped like this bad boy without making me feel like I was having a horrific allergic reaction. The truth is, all plumper give you that tingly feeling, I think it’s the peppermint, that makes your lips throb which in turn activates the swelling hence the ohhhh hayyyy lips. I’m all for the pain, but if there’s no gain… Hell to the no, don’t come knocking at my door! (Wow I just made that up, I surprise myself sometimes.)

So my girlfriend and I headed to the mirror and did the pout and applied. Both of us didn’t have much faith, then the hubbys reaction came… “Yaaaa… Yaaaa, you can really tell the difference.” We thought he was making fun of us until we went to the mirror again, he was right! I kinda looked like the brown version of Angelina Jolie! Okay I’m totally exaggerating, but my lips looked wayyy bigger. Needless to say, I looked at myself a lot in the mirror that night and tried to pout my lips after every sentence. It just felt natural!

Sooo want to feel sexier today?!?! This is another trick ladies. The color I got was Punch Bowl from Soap and Glory and I love it! It seriously looks effortless and isn’t screaming “hey I’m wearing a plumper, look at my lips!”

Now in the picture below, I can admit I did a bit of a sloppy job but I still had to share so you get the point. It’s all in the name of beauty!

Let’s be Honest – Part 2

I made it through another week! A challenge? Yes, but a good one. Worth every minute! Hubs and I think she looks completely different this week and she’s grown an entire inch, Ayercarumba! As for sleepless nights, shes been okay. We are ALMOST (kinda sorta close) to maybe being on a schedule but our little Princess really makes that decision at the end of the day. Just when we think we know her next move WHABAM shes pooed on Dad and peed a water fountain all over Mom. We can’t help but laugh and take pictures in the moment, story of our lives.

Now the placenta talk! I was originally going to put a picture of a placenta below but didn’t want to gross you out too bad that you wouldn’t finish reading this blog, so if you are interested Google Images it. In a nutshell it looks like a bloody steak, a massive piece. So what does a placenta do? It’s this super charged organ in our body that supports our baby for nine months, helping our little bundle of joy to stay nourished and support its growth in the mothers womb. So basically our baby relies on this to survive, but if consumed after it can continue its job helping both the mother and child by supporting lactation, helping to ease postpartum recovery, increases maternal energy, eases life transitions, naturally evens out hormones and avoids postpartum depression.

Now if you remember from Part 1, whether we like to admit it or not I believe all women go through some sort of postpartum. Some deal with it better than others. Before I even knew what motherhood had in store for me I had decided to encapsulate my placenta. I did a lot of research before hand and really liked all the benefits Angelina and I would have. And its just cool to say, “yeah i’m eating my placenta!” When I had told hubba originally, he was completely disgusted. Especially for the fact that it would have to sit in our fridge at home for pick up once Angie was born. But how things changed once the day came, after Angie was born the midwife and Hubs were sitting there analyzing my placenta. He was truly amazed by what it looked like and what it did. I stared in amazement. Hubs took it as far as making it a show and tell piece when the grandparents were over. I was upstairs, but could hear him showing and explaining how this organ worked in my body, cray cray I know!

I had an amazing women by the name of Rihanna (convenient, I know) actually come home to pick up my placenta and drop it back off within 72 hours. She actually dehydrates the placenta with herbs to get rid of the icky smell that may come with it. And as a keepsake, she also dries the umbilical cord in the shape of a heart to remember and appreciate the original connector between mother and child. Amazing and beautiful, right?!?! Cost $200 and it was worth it!

Now the scoop and do they work?!?? Rihanna came to drop off the 153 capsules, 72 hours later. As a mother herself she got it, she knew at that exact moment what I was going through and what I had in store emotionally and physically. First thing she mentioned, whenever you consume a pill it gives you this feeling of a buzz – I describe it as a bit of a high. Its an intense yet relaxing feeling. She explained the roller coaster of moods that would follow and the dosage to take to help deal. She was bang on! Day 1 taking it, people claimed to already notice a difference. I actually left our bedroom, I was definitely more talkative, I was cracking jokes (ex: texting + breastfeeding = brexting BAHAHA), I was definitely different. My husband worded it best, I was acting like myself again. Which was really nice to hear.

I called these pills my saving grace. Truthfully I notice a difference when I take them within 20 mins or so. If I wake up feeling a bit blah I change up the dosage to brighten the day. It works for sure for any emotional issues that may arise. As for lactation, I could feed an army! So physically its doing its job too! I recommend any mom to be contemplating this to do it, you will thank me later. A lot of women actually freeze the capsules as it can be very helpful during menopause as well. Two in one baby! If you have any further questions regarding this, please message me! I’m here for you girls!

Next update, i’m thinking breastfeeding! Oh nelly, that will be an interesting one. The good, bad and ugly would be an understatement! Stay tuned!

I did Pot…tery!!!!

I have been thinking about that title all morning, and has made me laugh every time! Sad I know…

The other day, hubbalicious came across a cute little paint/art studio two minutes away from our house. He was actually going to the convenient store next store, but the bright colors in the window caught his attention. So we went for a stroll that afternoon, if you haven’t heard of this place you have to Google 4Cats Art Studio, I definitely recommend you find one close to you and have a looksys. Even if it’s just to get your artistic side ignited. Now it does seem to be aimed more towards children but there are some adult classes there as well. The day of our stroll we went exploring inside. The minute you walk in, it’s like a breath of fresh air for your mind. All the walls are covered with vibrant canvas’ from top to bottom. Some are done by children, teenagers and adults. There are paintings galore, clay pots everywhere, paper mache, sculptures and my favorite part the splatter room. (I think that’s what they call it) My heart skipped a beat when I saw this room!

Because my husband is so fabulous, before I could even ask what the next upcoming adult class was he was already on it. And before I knew it, I was signed up for Pottery 101. So yesterday I got to experience throwing, kneading, wetting, spinning and most importantly making a chunk or clay into what I would like to think a masterpiece. Now I won’t lie, I did get a little cocky and thought I was a pro and my bowl literally turned into an inverted lopsided plate, but the instructor came to my rescue and I was able to have round 2 and make the fancy little piece below.

I must say pottery is very relaxing. It is not as easy as they make it look in the romantic movies, there is a lot of pressure required with your hands, a lot of mapping out, thinking, sitting, standing but when you see what you are possible of doing… the entire experience is just beautiful. If you haven’t already, I totally recommend you give this a try. It’s such a good friends outing (rather then the boring old shopping, movies, etc), date night idea or simply a free your mind relaxing therapeutic all by your lonesome well needed date with yourself kinda activity. We also got to paint our creations at the end. I stuck with simple elegance. Black on the outside and off white in the inside. Unfortunately we don’t get to see our finished product for another two weeks, but you better believe I will be sharing the pictures immediately once I get the worlds greatest, sexiest small but perfect hand bowl!

Ahhhhh I feel amazing! What a great way to start the weekend. Who would’ve guessed that making a bowl would be so good for the soul! Yes I purposely rhymed that!

Thank you lady, you made my day!!!!

As I sit at my table sipping on some tea, I had another moment.  They seem to be coming a lot more frequently now.

I received some good news earlier today of a friend who allowed me on her journey of success. She saw the good and the bad of a challenge that presented itself to her.  She allowed me to share my knowledge and beliefs on Angels, affirmations, creating manifestations and really looking deep within.  This had been going on for a month or so and boy oh boy did this lady believe!  She knew what she wanted and did not give up on it, no matter what anybody said.  Everything in me knew that she had the ability to do it.

I have made a very conscious effort to become a positive person, to see the best in everyone, to love everyone, to forgive everyone, to put negativity aside as none of this serves my higher good. But last week I had hit a speed bump, by accident I allowed the bad to get to me. I let influence ALMOST get in the way.  It turned on my judgmental side. But quickly with my husband being who he is, helped me shut it off almost as quick as it was turned on. (That man is a blessing I tell ya!)  What I learnt, is priceless. It is constantly important to surround yourself with amazing people, happy people, positive thoughts and real gratitude! Because anything is possible.  Love is everywhere and in everything!

My friend taught me a huge lesson today.  She believed in everything I shared with her, without a doubt. She knew it would work.  She let nothing stop her. She not only strengthened my belief, she set an amazing example I can look back at years from now.  I am so proud of her today and am so grateful for the lesson she has provided me.

Stay on track, listen with love to others, and rejoice in everyone’s success!

Thank you pretty lady! xoxo

I love you all dearly.

KONY 2012

Hi Friends,

As I’m sure you all know the Kony 2012 video is circulating like crazy and it is shouting the message out really loud and clear what we have to do as human beings to help our brothers and sisters.  After watching this inspirational and life changing video I know for sure that my husband and I will be going out of April 20, 2012 to paint the the city red.  As mentioned in the video, Joseph Kony is on the top of the world’s most wanted list, however, he remains to be unknown to 99% of the world’s population.  We are going to change this NOW.

This is what we are going to do:

  • Pledge
  • Order the kit
  • Have a Kony 2012 get together with family and friends to create posters and banners paint the city RED on April 20th.
  • Share this link with as many people as possible
  • Continuously create a buzz until we see that Kony is caught and children are set free

Check out my video and the original Kony 2012 Video…

P.S I know I said connected the link, which makes absolutely no sense… but you know what I mean.

Here Fishy Fishy

Today Isa and I thought we would go check out my new local sushi pad. When we first walked in I must say we weren’t so impressed by the loud drills and ruckus BUT as it always does while we’re together magically the men doing the work thought they would take a dinner break. Is that luck or what?!?

We got some all you could eat delicious sushi for $18.95 WITH 15% off just because that is how fabulous they are. Overall verdict great place, delicious food, amazing staff and of course the most fun and prettiest girl ever was my date!!! Wooaahhhh!!!!!

So if anyone is ever in the area (Rutherford and Weston) and craving some sushi, holla at your girl!!!!!

This calls for a sushi poem 🙂

Tonight I’m going, if you please
Out to eat like Japanese
On each and every single dish
Will be a serving of raw fish
Good enough to make you cry
Tuna, eel and octopi
I’ll be cool, so not cocky
As I sip a cup of good hot sake
And drink a few ice cold Asahi
Munching on some sliced up mahi
Wasabi, ginger and sauce of soy
Make Asian eating such a joy
Top it off with a frozen dream
A bowl of green tea ice cream
Life for me is keen and peachy
Tonight I’m eating at Kenichi
